How the ‘At-School Program’ works
  • 🎶Live Instrument Demonstration

Children get to watch a live demonstration of each instrument being performed at school. Our team of musicians explain the basics of each instrument, and then perform a medley of songs so the children can hear a real instrumental ensemble.

  • 📝Registration

After the demonstration, each child is provided a flyer to take home. This flyer has a QR code and website address to use for information and enrollment. The registration period usually lasts one week after the demonstration.

Good News: it’s NEVER TOO LATE to join the program! Late registrations are welcome. A registration fee and tuition apply, with options to rent or purchase instruments and materials.

  • 🕒Scheduling & Lesson Format

Once registration forms are received, teachers organize students into small-group lessons (30 minutes each). Lessons are scheduled either:

  • During the school day (on a rotating “Flex” schedule so students don’t miss the same class twice)
  • After school (available at select schools; dismissal options will be collected during enrollment)

We work closely with classroom teachers to find the best times for each student. If a child needs a schedule adjustment, our instructors are committed to making changes smoothly.

Schedules will be posted in classrooms, distributed to students, and available on Fundamentalmusic.org.
You’ll receive a secure login email — check your spam folder if it doesn’t appear in your inbox.

  • 🎼The First Lesson

At their first lesson, students will:

  • Learn how to assemble and disassemble their instrument
  • Receive ordered materials (typically within one week of ordering)
  • Explore basic maintenance and sound production

Whether they’re beginners or continuing students, each child will be guided step-by-step to build confidence and excitement
